The 2018 National Costume

The Rainbow Warrior

The Miss Universe Ireland 2018 National Costume Represents Peace, Love, & Equality

In times of trouble, famine, war, or recession this small but mighty country has always remained positive and has stood for peace. It’s no wonder we have been described as the “luckiest” and most “friendly” country in the world. Ireland’s shamrock is recognized internationally as a symbol of luck and good fortune.

The LED Light up wings were made by Irish Designer “Bag & Bones” and the body suit was made from Irish Designer “Fionnuala Bourke/ Fibourke”.

Our little island of 4 million strong has been the pioneers for equality in recent years, which is represented through the beautiful array of colors of the rainbow. We proudly were the first country in the world to legalize equal marriage through referendum. Furthermore, just this summer the people of Ireland once again made history by using their voices to overturn archaic language in the constitution that was governing a woman’s body; leading the way for pro-choice programs. Our Queen “GG” Grainne Gallanagh is a practicing nurse and women’s health advocate. Her goal is to establish better conditions in the medical field and to one day open her own Women’s Health Clinic employing all women. Before departing for Thailand. Queen GG hosted a special event for the grand reveal of her National Costume with 100% of all proceeds donated to her hometown’s Women’s Centre where all women are welcome for various needs including health screenings, domestic violence, shelter, and counseling.

The Queen of the Emerald Isle, Grainne “GG” Gallanagh hopes to share the Irish spirit by “lighting” the way for the universe by spreading love, peace, and equality for all.
